As the Anchor organization for Greater Englewood TODB takes a proactive approach aimed at identifying violence reduction strategies through community-led
conversations, creates safe spaces, builds & strengthens block connections, activates public spaces and provides access to resources.

We’re seeking individuals who are interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas to collectively build a community plan.

Parent Cafe

Think Outside Da Block is hosting a Parent Cafe’ where parents can connect, learn new skills, and just grow as overall parents and ambassadors within the community. There will be open and honest conversations, receiving support and resources and then giving tools for further connections with the schools.

Youth Empowerment Day

Think Outside Da Block is collaborating with the Salvation Army for Youth Empowerment Day, to get youth into a central location where they can explore different education, opportunities, and health and wellness. There will also be a few employers there to give support around job readiness.

Skate N Peace is an activation that deters violence, offers an opportunity for pan-generational community building, and promotes health, mental & physical wellness.

Roll N Peace Xll

Goals

  • Address public safety concerns in Englewood.
  • Promote health and wellness amongst residents.
  • Provide participants an opportunity to see their neighborhood in a positive light.
  • Increase knowledge and awareness of community resources.
  • Encourage positive interactions with local law enforcement.

Roll N Peace is an 8- mile bike ride through the Greater Englewood area to bring awareness to media’s cliché depiction of Englewood’s damaging reputation and push past this to begin creating a new narrative for the place Greater Englewood residents call home.
